Clean air - who doesn't want to breath it?

Let's talk about air filters. But first, let's clear up this misnomer: You aren't expected to know everything about your vehicle. That's why you should select a mechanic and repair shop that is efficient with your vehicle's maintenance and repairs. Now, in case you didn't know this, all vehicles have engine air filters which need to be cleaned or changed regularly to allow for optimum engine performance. But, not all vehicles have cabin air filters.

Cabin air filters, designed to remove contaminants like dust, pollen, spores and other pollutants, are rather important components for your well being. They filter the air that your vehicle pulls from outside, to cool or heat, before it's recirculated into your vehicle's interior, And, if you've been driving around the Stevens Point area this summer, you've probably driven down one or another road that's had the gravel cover on it. With the hot weather this summer too, you've probably also run your air conditioning from time to time. Your cabin air filter is really working hard to keep that road dust out but it can only work to its highest level if it's clean. Perhaps you've even noticed a mildew or mold-like odor when you run your air conditioning, or heat. That might point to a dirty and/or clogged cabin air filter too. And, if you ignore it, it's very likely only going to get worse. It's also not good for your respiratory system, especially if you suffer from asthma, bronchitis, allergies, or even have a simple cold. So, whether you know if your vehicle has an air filter or not, you're welcome to stop in and we'll let you know what's what.
